CPU and Graphics Card Fan Replacement on Desktop


High temperature is a big problem for all electronic devices.

Fan Failure on the processor (CPU) and graphics card (GPU) can cause overheating to the desktop and especially to the laptop, which can lead to irreparable damage!


The most common failures due to overheating are:


  • Graphics card (GPU) damage)

  • Processor (CPU) damage

  • Motherboard damage

  • Corrupted operating system (Windows / OS X / Linux)


If the fan does not work, the best course of action is to stop using the computer and bring it to us immediately for inspection! If the problem occurs you will probably notice one or more of the following symptoms:


  • Turns off without any warning and does not start immediately

  • It restarts without any warning

  • It shows blue screen

  • High temperature on the surfaces of the device

The process of replacing the fan involves the following steps:


  1. Temperature measurement in the condition we received it

  2. Disassemble the device

  3. Removing the internal fan

  4. Testing of the internal fan

  5. Cleaning of the heat-sink and electronics from the old heat-conductive paste

  6. Heat-sink, air duct and interior plastic cleaning

  7. Installation of a new heat-conductive paste

  8. Installation of a new fan

  9. Assembly of the device

  10. Measuring and comparing temperatures before cleaning


An internal cleaning is mandatory since we are going to disassemble all the parts concerning the heat management. This is considered a part of this repair operation and there will be no extra charge. The cost is 25€ plus the cost of the spare part.


This repair requires one business day to complete and the work warranty is 6 months while the spare part has a 2 year warranty.


The fan is responsible for supplying cold air to the heatsink and removing hot air from it. We can help this process by keeping the air ducts free of obstacles so the fan can work properly and the air can pass through easily.
