The RT3606BC is an IMVP8 compliant CPU powercontroller which includes two voltage rails : a 3/2/1 phasesynchronous Buck controller, the CORE VR and a 2/1phase synchronous Buck controller, the AXG VR. TheRT3606BC adopts G-NAVPTM (Green Native AVP) whichis Richtek's proprietary topology derived from finite DCgain of EA amplifier with current mode control, making iteasy to set the droop to meet all Intel CPU requirementsof AVP (Adaptive Voltage Positioning). Based on the G-NAVPTM topology, the RT3606BC also features a quickresponse mechanism for optimized AVP performanceduring load transient. The RT3606BC supports modetransition function with various operating states. A serialVID (SVID) interface is built in the RT3606BC tocommunicate with Intel IMVP8 compliant CPU. TheRT3606BC supports VID on-the-fly function with threedifferent slew rates : Fast, Slow and Decay. By utilizingthe G-NAVPTM topology, the operating frequency of theRT3606BC varies with VID, load and input voltage to furtherenhance the efficiency even in CCM. Moreover, the G-NAVPTM with CCRCOT (Constant Current Ripple COT)technology provides superior output voltage ripple overthe entire input/output range. The built-in high accuracyDAC converts the SVID code ranging from 0.25V to 1.52Vwith 5mV per step. The RT3606BC integrates a highaccuracy ADC for platform setting functions, such as quickresponse trigger level or over-current level. Besides, thesetting function also supports this two rails addressexchange. The RT3606BC provides VR ready outputsignals. It also features complete fault protection functionsincluding over-voltage (OV), negative voltage (NV), over-current (OC) and under-voltage lockout (UVLO).
