The NCP5387 is a two−, three−, or four−phase buck controllerwhich combines differential voltage and current sensing, andadaptive voltage positioning to power both AMD and Intelprocessors. Dual−edge pulse−width modulation (PWM) combinedwith inductor current sensing reduces system cost by providing thefastest initial response to transient load events. Dual−edgemulti−phase modulation reduces total bulk and ceramic outputcapacitance required to satisfy transient load−line regulation.A high performance operational error amplifier is provided, whichallows easy compensation of the system. The proprietary method ofDynamic Reference Injection (Patented) makes the error amplifiercompensation virtually independent of the system response to VIDchanges, eliminating tradeoffs between overshoot and dynamic VIDperformance.
